About Jodhpur:
Jodhpur, also known as the blue city, is the gateway to the famous Thar desert. It is the second largest city of heritage state of Rajasthan. The city was founded by Rajput Rathore Rao Jodha around 1459 AD. Most of the houses are of blue shades in old city that make it famous as Blue City. Also It is called the Sun City as the sun brightens the city almost everyday. With its superb surroundings and structures, it is one of the most favourite tourists destination of Rajasthan.

Attractions:
Jodhpur is located in the lap of Thar desert, surrounded by the gorgeous Aravali hills. Various forts, palaces and temples enrich the city and make it the center of attraction.

Mehrangarh Fort:
It is the largest fort of Rajasthan, founded in 1458, around which the whole city was developed. It is loacted at the top of a hill at a height of 150 meters, which now is converted into one of the finest as well as the most well stocked museum of Rajasthan.

It contains the rare collection of old royal palanquins.

Umaid Bhavan Palace:
This palace is counted amongst the most recent palaces of India. This beautiful building is made of the finest marble and the special sandstone. Also it is the biggest private residence in the whole world, which also has a royal heritage hotel along with a wonderful museum.

Veer Durgadas Smarak, Masooria Hills:
You may enjoy the fantastic bird's-eye view of the city from the Veer Durgadas Smarak, as it is located at the high hills of Masooria. The beautiful fountains along with museum, children playing facilities, park and restaurants make this place must visit tourist destination.

Temples: Ganesha Temple, Mahamandir Temple, Baba Ramdev Temple, Pal Balaji Temple and Santoshi Mata Temple are the famous temples of the city.

Lakes: Jodhpur is also garnished with several famous lakes full of natural beauty. Some of these most famous lakes are Balsamand Lake, Kailana Lake and Gulab Sagar Lake.

Market: Nai Sadak and Sardar market are the famous buying places of the city. Handlooms products, handicrafts items, silver and semi precious stone jewelry, cushions, bedsheets, gift items and candles are the main buying material of Jodhpur that attract everyone's attention.
